Tales from Nowhere
Author: Don George
Building on the stories from The Middle of Nowhere, this is a short story anthology of adventure in places that feel like the middle of nowhere. It offers includes contributions from well-known international adventures. Tales from Nowhere is a celebration of adventure travel, an exploration of the remote corners of our world. We want travellers to know that there is still a lifetime of discoveries to enjoy for even the most adventurous among us. It's about the places and experiences that give you a sense that you are far from home, far from anywhere you've known - the middle of nowhere. This companion title to The Middle of Nowhere will feature expanded accounts that might feature in the pictorial, as well as new writing. As with the Middle of Nowhere, the stories will contain some element of adventure of each piece, and will focus more on the extreme. The title is to be awe-inspiring, leaving readers with an understanding of nowhere and an appreciation of some of the incredible and challenging things people do. Contributors to Tales from Nowhere include well-known travel writers (Simon Winchester, Pico Iyer...) as well as Lonely Planet guidebook authors, and on top of that, a number of recognised adventurers from all over the world. This inspirational armchair guide is designed to foster a spirit of exploration and travel. With such an eclectic mix of writers, the stories are personal, cover the globe and give a sense of adventure in all its facets, from the calm introspection found in a hidden natural place, to the spiritual overhaul that an extreme event can bring about.
