It is time for the Druid Convention at the Forest of Carnutes. Druids from around Europe come to display their most wondrous creations, and the winner is awarded the title of the greatest druid of the year. Getafix journeys to the Forest with his loyal companions, the Gauls, Asterix and Obelix. However, only Druids are allowed into the forest. Asterix and Obelix wait outside, while their Druid proves his mettle to the others yet again, amazing everyone with his magic potion of invincibility. He is unanimously selected for the title, but before he can celebrate, the Druid discovers that there are unwelcome guests within the forest. A band of raiding Gauls invades the gathering and kidnaps Getafix, vying his magic potion. They take him to Germania, where they believe he will make them all the magic potion they need to win their feuds. However, in doing so, they have made two Gauls particularly angry, and if there’s anything at all one should know about Gauls, it’s that one does not make Asterix and Obelix angry.
