Just ten years old, Micka has no model for life: his violent, older brother Lee is in and out of prison, his illiterate mother cant stop drinking, and he has barely enough food and clothes to keep him going. Lauries parents have split up, and while hes from a more comfortable background, the 11-year-old has absorbed few positive life lessons - his mother is unpredictable, verging on disturbed. His burgeoning friendship with Micka is fast bringing out the worst in both boys.Kay Frances is a playwright, script editor, and childrens author.
