Veronica Roth  is an American novelist and short story writer, best known as the author of the Divergent trilogy (Divergent, Insurgent, and Allegiant), which became international bestsellers and were adapted into major motion pictures. Born in New York City and raised in Barrington, Illinois, she studied creative writing at Northwestern University. Roth has also written Four: A Divergent Collection, Carve the Mark, The Fates Divide, Chosen Ones, and several short stories. Her works are widely recognized for their strong young adult dystopian and fantasy themes, earning her multiple awards and a place on Forbes’ “30 Under 30” list.
