    Linda Davies

I am half Welsh, half Danish, or half Celt, half Viking. I love myths, legends of warriors and the sea.
I am a Politics, Philosophy and Economics graduate from Oxford University and an escaped investment banker. I spent seven years in finance in New York, London and Easter Europe, specializing in leveraged buyouts and highly leveraged securities before I ran off to write novels.
Inspired by my time in finance, I wrote Nest of Vipers which has been published around the world, optioned by MGM and is now available as an E Book. I continued to write financial thrillers and have written and had published four more which are also all available as E Books: Wilderness of Mirrors, Into the Fire, Something Wild and Final Settlement. They are all action thrillers with strong heroines who find themselves in extreme situations colliding with gorgeous men…..
I lived in Peru for three years, and in the Middle East for eight years, during which time I had a rather unfortunate run in with Iranian government forces which resulted in my being held hostage for two weeks in Iran. After UK government intervention, I was freed.
I keep reminding myself not to sweat the small stuff…
My husband and I have three wonderful, opinionated and adventurous children and it is they who inspired me to write a series for Young/Adults – Sea Djinn, Fire Djinn, Storm Djinn and King of the Djinn – magical adventure stories set in the deserts of the Empty Quarter in Arabia and modern-day Dubai.
My latest book for adults is Ark Storm – a cli fi thriller featuring a big wave surfer and Meteorologist called Gwen Boudain who foils an outrageous planned terrorist atrocity where weather manipulation was to be used as a devastating weapon. Ark Storm will be published by Tor Books - Macmillan US – in August 2014.
I do occasional pieces of journalism to hone my sense of deadline.
I live with my husband and children by the sea in Suffolk.
