    Carol Shields

    Carol Ann Shields was an American-born Canadian author. She is best known for her successful 1993 novel The Stone Diaries, which won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction as well as the Governor Generals Award. Her novel Swann won the Best Novel in 1988.
