Chakraborty was born in Silchar, Assam and has been through the states of Assam, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh due to the status of a transferable job of his father. He did his schooling from Cathedral School, Lucknow.

His first book, A thing beyond forever, was published in 2009. 2019 marked his debut in digital storytelling platform Wattpad where he writes under the pen name of Elizabeth Eli.

His book "The Forever series" found its place in Times of India’s Most Stunning Books of 2017.

His thriller series The Stranger Trilogy was translated into six Indian languages. The trilogy has also been adapted into a successful web series named Hello Mini on MX Player by Applause Entertainment and Rose movies. His thriller novel Black Suits You has been adopted by AltBalaji into a web series Bekaboo.
